You hear hurried footsteps ahead, and you keep walking. The corridor is too dark to see very well, but you do not stop. You mustn't stop until you finish your search. There is a light ahead, but the shadows twist and pull like yarn in a loom. A quiet chorus of quiet, breathless clicks wash around you, and you cannot hear the footsteps anymore.
Something cold crunches beneath your shoe.

In this painting I decided to experiment with less. Most of my early paintings were very busy and relied on rich details to communicate their ideas. The Fugitive has few textures, though it builds on the reflective techniques I developed while painting Das Küche (2021).
This is one of the least concrete parts of Otherwhere. I do not think you could find your way there normally, but it seems like the dead would know it in passing.
The Hylozoist is a long-form digital project I began in February 2020. Each painting tells a story, and each painting tells another story when viewed in context. Also, each painting can be followed to the next painting in the series if you follow the most interesting thing in the scene.
